We connect hydrogen and fuel cell technology developments, businesses, energy leaders, government, and infrastructure providers with a common vision of energy and transportation fueled by zero-emission hydrogen. Investment Plan Workshop from the California Air Resources Board


The State of California Air Resources Board is developing an investment plan for the auction proceeds from the Cap-and-Trade program to reduce greenhouse gases. It is holding workshops for the public to provide input on the projects that may receive this funding. The workshop will be held in three locations as indicated below and each workshop will cover the same topics.

Clifford Rechtschaffen is a senior advisor in the governor's office, working on energy, environmental and agricultural issues. From 2007 to 2010 he was a special assistant attorney general for Attorney General Jerry Brown.


He currently is on leave from Golden Gate University School of Law, where he taught environmental law and directed the environmental law program from 1993 to 2007. He has published several articles, and is the co-author of two books, about environmental enforcement, "Reinventing Environmental Enforcement and the State/Federal Relationship", and "Environmental Enforcement: Cases & Materials" (a law school casebook).


Prior to teaching at Golden Gate, he worked in the Environment Section of the California Attorney General's Office from 1986 to 1993. He is a graduate of Princeton University and Yale Law School.

NEL Hydrogen is a world-leading supplier of hydrogen generation plants based on water electrolysis technology. The company supplies energy efficient hydrogen solutions for industrial applications, hydrogen fueling stations and distributed energy systems worldwide.

An interview with Brian Larsen, a materials scientist at the Energy Department's National Renewable Energy Laboratory and one of the recipients of the 2012 Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) Postdoctoral Research Awards, is currently posted on the Energy Department's blog. Larsen works on developing the next generation of fuel cell catalysts.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Program recently released its  2012 Annual Progress Report. This document contains individual reports from projects funded by the program, summarizing the work of scientists, engineers, and other experts from industry, academia, and national laboratories, as well as addresses the challenges facing the public commercialization of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies.

Hydrogen Refueling Protocols - EERE Webinar

The next EERE Fuel Cell Technologies webinar on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 10AM PT, will highlight fuel cell electric vehicle hydrogen refueling protocols.

Current refueling methods including the TIR guideline, SAE TIR J2601 will be presented. The TIR guideline was developed using OEM hydrogen storage systems and third-party laboratory testing. The guideline establishes a table-based approach which allows all OEMs to safely fuel vehicles within a few minutes. Learn more >>
