Integrating Large Scale Renewables and Decarbonization of the Energy Sector with Renewable Hydrogen
In coordination with:
Description: This three-hour workshop will highlight the potential and key roles renewable hydrogen can play in the energy future of states and countries around the globe that seek to massively increase the share of renewables. Speakers will share their ideas and experience in advancing hydrogen. The audience will be invited to participate in a structured dialogue.
It will address the capacity to integrate vast amounts of renewables, highlight the opportunity of green gas and elaborate on the case for full transition to ZEV transportation with hydrogen in all transport sectors.
The CHBC will host the meeting to provide current information on the state of development of the hydrogen and fuel cell sector in California, provide policy and regulatory updates and frame the conversation of how other states and governments can apply lessons learned in California to their own jurisdiction. Even today, 80% of the transportation fleet could be supported by existing hydrogen production currently used in oil refining and ammonia production.
Audience: Up to 50 select representatives attending the Global Climate Action Summit, including representatives from electric and gas utilities, auto manufacturers, industrial gas companies and electrolyzer and fuel cell manufacturers, local, regional/state and federal government representatives and regulators.
Purpose: Present and discuss pathways for renewable energy expansion and transportation electrification with renewable hydrogen and associated challenges, and experiences in California.
